Shotgun – Trap & Skeet

The Gopher Flats Sportsmen’s Club hosts both Trap and Skeet matches weekly. These are no-pressure, club matches that don’t count toward annual rankings or toward inter-club competitions. So, why not break-out that hunting gun or side-by-side to join other club members in what Hollywood Director John Milius has famously termed “Redneck Golf”?

But, if you catch the competitive bug and yearn for some bling to display on your mantle, the club league matches and the inter-club Round Robin matches count toward honors awarded at the end of each year.

Trap Shooters!

The Round Robin Matches

Please come out and join your fellow club members in the excitement of inter-club competition. To join-up, please email the round robin chair. The matches are held at the Oak Tree Gun Club, in beautiful Newhall. Come out to the Thursday morning (9:00am-Noon) or evening Trap matches (7:00pm to 10:00pm) to hone your clay-busting skills…or, just to kibitz and generally harass your fellow club members.

Trap And Skeet House…Keeping

Have you ever wondered how the trap and skeet ranges dispense a seemingly endless supply of clay birds? It’s not Magic! Just a handful of dedicated clay shooters prepare and break-down all the gear. Why not linger for a few minutes after the matches to help them stow gear and reload the throwers?

Reign Over Your Trap (or Skeet) Kingdom

Do you stay up late, poring over catalogs of exotic shotguns from distant lands? Do rivers of shot flow in your veins? Have you always dreamed of running a trap or skeet match? You could be the next Clay Monarch! Email John Manning to claim your rightful throne.
